Magician Karl Achilles brings a 'Trunk of Tricks' for an exciting, unique voyage into the history of magic in the tradition of Houdini. This act promises something for everyone. Acts include body and rope tricks, straightjacket escape, the magical coin fan and others. The performer also shares the history of magic and challenges his audience to read and learn more about the art.

Attendees will develop an interest in the performing arts - particularly magic. Will gain knowledge in the history of magic and its major performers. Will be encouraged to study the art and science of magic. Families will interact with one another as they discuss how various magic tricks are performed.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Audience members were intrigued by the various magic arts. Responses included 'magic is fun' and 'great quality program.' Audience members expressed an interest in coming to the library to learn more about magic and to see other similar performances. Audience members were likely to think of the library as a place to learn more about Minnesota arts and history.
