This program will help generate excitement for the Summer Reading program, as well as reading in general. Children will also hear a musical performance which will help to culivate an interest in music.
Measurable Outcome(s)
From a parent: "The program got the kids really excited to spend the summer at the library." From a principal:" This was great, it was a fun afternoon and it really got the students excited to read over the summer." Plus, many excited comments from the students about the program and reading/participating in summer reading program.
Source of Additional Funds
GFW Elementary provided space for the performance. RCW Elementary provided space for the performance. They also helped with promotion of the event to students.
