Tom Anderson: A History of Magic
The magic show uses books as their basis for their magic tricks. Being a part of the show, the kids will want to come to the library and look for the books and study up more on magic.
Some children and some adults came up front and helped perform magic (some had never stood in front of a group before.) They learned about Harry Houdini and his famous escape tricks. They didn't learn how the tricks were done, but their curiosity made them come to the library and check out books about magic and Harry Houdini. Many people in the audience had never seen a magic show before, they were very grateful to have one come to them in Atwater.
The City provided the Atwater Community Center for the program and hired someone to clean-up after the program.
The 40th birthday party will certainly remind adults and children who have read the book or seen the movie, the magic of childhood and dreams.
