Wire and Bead Jewelry Making - Jen Anfinson
Participants learn to create with memory wire and beads and will be taught techniques and tips to create their own bracelet in the 1.5 hour class designed for teens and adults.
12 participated
In this class teens and adults learn how to create their own jewelry. They will have the opportunity to design and create a memory wire beaded bracelet. It is hoped that this may spark an interest in using the library's jewelry making book collection and see the library as a source of artistic inspiration. Participant evaluation and anecdotal responses will be collected.
Everyone who attended really enjoyed learning how to create bracelets with memory wire. There was a wide variety of beads and other materials for them to choose so everyone was able to design their own little piece of art to wear home. Many people who attended were surprised that the techniques they used were so simple and the most difficult part for most was choosing their beads and designing the bracelet. It was interesting to see all of the different combinations that people came up with. We happened to have several adults with developmental disabilities sign up for the class which was fabulous. We hope that we can continue to have more participation from this sector of the community when we host similar programs in the future.
