Candace Simar - Author
Author Candace Simar shares a passion for her Scandinavian heritage and deep love of history. Simar grew up dreaming of how life might have been for her family in the early days of Minnesota settlement and became concerned when her college aged children did not know this history and took her son's challenge to write a book.

Participants will hear from the author about her book and the writing process. They will learn about history and the author's Scandinavian heritage. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
Candace Simar gave a wonderful presentation, talking about her heritage and upbringing. Many patrons related closely to what she had to say. She shared about why she wanted to begin writing, how she felt the younger generations are not learning about Minnesota history and how important it is to pass on stories of our cultural heritage to them.
