Participants learn the traditional African art form of fiber wrapping. The history, techniques and supplies will be included in the program. Participants will create a fiber wrapped bracelet during the course.

Participants will learn about the African art form of fiber wrapping and create their own unique piece of jewelry during the class. The history of this art form will be explored as well. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Participants learned about techniques for fiber wrapping jewelry with various types of fiber using bracelets as a base. The artist shared several tricks for success that she has learned through practice and gave recommendations for fiber types and glue. Those who attended enjoyed the fellowship of crafting in a small group with others who have similar interests.
