Students will learn about the process of writing and illustrating children's books. They will also gain knowledge about how farm families lived in the past and how they can help to preserve farm heritage. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
Gordon Fredrickson's books are about families and farming in the 1950s and the author shared real life farm stories from his own childhood. He told personal stories about the importance of families working together on the farm even at a very young age and emphasized the value of listening to stories from parents and grandparents as well as the need for sharing their own stories with future generations.
