Project Overview

Using all recycled materials we will design and construct a robot. Tin cans, paperclips and other leftover pieces from crafts, homes and offices will be used. Imagination will abound. STEM/STAM is all the rage and this workshop will incorporate those throughout. (A portion of this program paid with 2016 funds.)

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Children will learn about recycling in their community and their homes through the discussion and the reading of the book, 'Michael Recycle'. Children will then design and build their own unique one of a kind project using their creativity, artistic, science, engineering and mathematical skills. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Children enjoyed using recycled materials to make something new. The presenter discussed recycling with the participants and children used their creativity and artistic abilities to make their very own robots.
