Individuals will have a greater appreciation for the struggles of immigrants in Minnesota in the 1800s and will have a better understanding of Minnesota history and the 1862 Sioux Uprising. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Discussion of the Sioux Uprising took place: the areas involved, the tribes, and its effect on Minnesota becoming a state. The Civil War and the death of Abraham Lincoln and how it affected the treatment of the Sioux was also discussed.
