Kimmel, a professional wildlife biologist and 2018 inductee in the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, sings and plays guitar, banjo and mandolin.

They will hear stories of a animals that once roamed the prairies such as bison and wild turkey as well as the area's native prairie past. Attendees will be encouraged to sing along, play instruments and create additional verses to songs. Parents and children will be entertained by the performer's high energy program and will view the library as a place that offers quality programming to people of all ages. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees were introduced to traditional folk music and instruments including the guitar, mandolin and banjo, instruments not commonly performed in the local area. They heard stories about animals that are featured in songs, past histories of the animals and how they related to the area's native prairie past. There was a great deal of singing and dancing among the audience members and a good time was had by all.
