Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Fiction continuity is consistency of characteristics of people, plot, objects and places over a period of time. Meyer and Vetsch share their secrets and show how to manage the details when writing historical novels. The authors incorporate the rich history of Minnesota and tell the stories inspired by real people, places and events. The audience will learn about the history and culture of Minnesota through the writings of these two historical fiction novelists as well as a beginning 'how to write a novel' workshop. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

So interesting and I really enjoyed it!, 'Very upbeat and excited about what they do - they inspired me to read more historical novels.', 'I learned about the exciting part of working on a continuity series.', 'I learned about collective writing, something I had never heard of before and saw a glimpse of how book publishing works.'
