Minnesota author Brian Freeman shares photos of locales in and around Duluth, Minnesota, that are featured in his Detective Jonathan Stride series of books. He also speaks about his writing techniques as well as the writer's life.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees will learn about Duluth from a new perspective. They'll hear about the author's writing and publishing process and will have the opportunity to listen to an internationally recognized author from their home state. Freeman's presentation will be entertaining as well as informative as he shares how and where he finds the inspiration for books and characters. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Those who attended noted that they learned more about Duluth and the writing process than they already knew. Some had not read Brian Freeman's works before but were excited to get started. The library's collection of the author's books were checked out immediately after the program and in the days following.
