Project Overview

Minnesota artist Jen Anfinson leads a workshop to teach adults and teens how to create unique leather jewelry. She teaches participants about tools, supplies and techniques needed for this art. Each participant will have the opportunity to create a piece of jewelry with all of the supplies provided.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Participants will learn about a new form of artistic expression by creating their own jewelry and learning to work with different materials. This class will be an introduction to the art of leatherworking. Attendees will gain knowledge about an art and be able to move forward on their own to develop their skills further. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Those who attended learned the best techniques and tricks of working with different types of leather. Methods learned included cutting, tools and accessories needed to complete a bracelet, necklace earrings or key chain. Participants shared ideas and worked together to create two of their own items during the workshop.
