Project Overview
Brent Mielke aka "The Zoo Man" brought five different kinds of snakes to share with 103 kids and 44 adults in our community. The Zoo Man talked about where each snake was from, what and how often they ate, and always included an additional interesting fact or two. As always after the program the Zoo Man stays until every last child that wants to can either touch or have their picture taken with a snake.

Tuesday, June 26, 2012 Springfield Public Library Altermatt Room / We had 103 children and 44 adults attend our animal program, one new daycare and many new to our program grandparents attended with their grandchildren.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)
The public will learn about animal's lifestyles and eating habits. The library will have displays in the children's area to promote our animal books, both fiction and nonfiction.
Measurable Outcome(s)
Many new and interesting snake facts were learned, there was also a rescued snake so the kids learned about how its scar will go away after the snake molts. Each child had the opportunity to touch a snake if they chose. There was much interest in our reptile books as the Zoo Man encouraged each child to read.
