Project Overview
Included in the two-session workshop will be background on historical pieces related to Deaf Culture. The presenter will cover common myths about deaf people, often misunderstood by hearing people. The workshop also incorporates linguistic information related to number incorporation, lexicalized fingerspelling, and the role of non-manual markers. The presenter will address the components of ASL storytelling: constructed dialogue, constructed action, surrogate, and personification. Participants practice these components within a small group with a native language user.
