Project Overview
The group toured two artists’ studios. Our first stop was the Thimbleberries studio, where Lynette Jensen talked about how she built her business, showed off her workshop, and then the group was able to browse through her quilt patterns and the enormous amount of fabric Lynette designs--a new line every six weeks! Clay Coyote Gallery was our second stop, where Tom Wirt and Betsy Price showed off their pottery studio, gave a demonstration on how they create the pottery, and wowed the crowd with their tremendous annual output--over 10,000 pieces a year. The group learned how artists organize their supplies, use their space, find inspiration, and create an artistic business in rural Minnesota.
Project Details
A large portion of the group was from Butterfield, which extended our usual programming reach since we hold very few adult programs in Butterfield.
