Project Overview
A series comprised of three dance troupes: Mankato Ballet, Sumunar Indonesian Music and Dance, and Katha Dance Theatre. Each group performed a set of dances for the audience, that also included some form of audience participation or workshop. The Mankato Ballet performed selections from "The Nutcracker," Sumunar performed dances accompanied by beautiful traditional Indonesian instruments, and Katha shared stories and taught the students movements to accompany their dances.

We expect the audience will enjoy the performances and be exposed to dance and music from a variety of cultures and encourage movement through dance as a way to get children up and active.
Measurable Outcome(s)
199 people attended. Based on survey responses, the majority of the attendees highly enjoyed the performances, half of the children participated actively in the interactive part of the program and everyone was exposed to new cultures through dance.
