Minnesota Zoomobile
It was expected that a majority of respondents would learn something new about at least one of the animals presented, express excitement for and interest in learning more about animals or the Minnesota Zoo, express interest in checking out library materials about the outdoors, animals, or zoos.
500 people attended. We distributed about 100 evaluations but received only two completed forms. Because of the overwhelming attendance, it was difficult to follow up with the formal evaluations. However, the completed forms indicated the respondents learned something new about at least one of the animals presented and were excited for and interested in learning more about animals and the Minnesota Zoo. Children and their parents and caregivers responded positively to this program; many stayed the entire two hours or returned several times to the hands-on program. The only negative comment was about the location. Because of the cool temperatures, we had to move the program into a shelter. Had the program been outside, everyone would have been accommodated on the park’s grass and could have enjoyed the formal presentation.
