Project Overview

Karaoke with Dion led a karaoke program where teens sang their favorite songs and performed. Karaoke with Dion provided a great list of songs to choose from and gave away leis, sombreros, and other silly costume items. The teens chose songs ranging from Justin Bieber to Eminem. Some teens were hesitant about performing, but others could not get enough. Several of the teens who attended have problems reading so this was surprisingly a great literacy event. The speed in which they would have to read lyrics (especially the rap lyrics!) and sing them out (on beat, with the right flow) was great practice for them.

Project Details

This was the first time we have ever held a program like this so it was a new experience for all 10 participants. Three teens who have never attended a teen event came to this event. Location: Watonwan County Library
