Project Overview
We had a speaker every Tuesday evening at the library from Jan. 24 to Mar. 20. We included local people “sharing” presentations about different countries they visited. These were: Chuck Klimmek and Pauline Marlinski-“Driving in Scotland: Golfing and Sightseeing,” Shannon Hruska-“South Korea, Gapshida!” John and Cindy Gustafson-“Egypt: Past and Present” and Mary Anderson-“India Outreach.” We also had local authors and speakers, Renee Wendinger from Sleepy Eye, MN, Nancy Paddock from Litchfield, MN, Jim Jensen from New Ulm, MN and Ben Leonard from the Nicollet County Historical Society to “remember” stories from the past. Renee remembered stories from her book “Orphan Train and Newsboys of New York.” Just before Valentine’s Day, Nancy shared her amazing love story “A Song at Twilight: of Alzheimer’s and Love.” Jim shared the book he wrote, “Threads of Evidence” and Ben presented his powerpoint on U.S. and Dakota Relations.
