Project Overview
In honor of the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, Dale Blanshan’s multimedia program examined the planning and building of the Titanic, what it took to provision the ship, who signed up for the first voyage, and who missed the boat. The program followed the voyage from Southampton, England, to Cherbourg, France, and Queenstown, Ireland, and out upon the North Atlantic to the point where the ship met her doom. Blanshan explored how the accident happened, the evacuation of the ship, the rescue and recovery efforts, who survived, and who did not. The program concluded with a look at the official investigations on both sides of the Atlantic and pictures of the ship as it lay when it was found in 1985. The slideshow was an excellent introduction into the history of the Titanic
