WonderWeavers
Professional storytellers Tina Rohde and Colleen Shaskin present a 45 minute program based on favorite children's stories and books. Their storytelling, along with puppetry, props, magic and audience participation, make these stories come alive. Throughout their performance they promote literacy and reinforce the importance of reading for people of all ages.

Participants will gain an understanding of the art of storytelling, puppetry and performance and become familiar with various classic works of children's literature. The WonderWeavers will encourage children to read more and their parents will view reading as essential to lifelong success. Parents and children will see the library as a community gathering place where they have fun and learn new things. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
The performers encouraged the audience to participate with singing, repeating lines and clapping along. They retold old tales such as Frog and Toad and other stories, sometimes giving them a modern day twist. They encouraged the children in the audience to read books that tied in with the characters that they portrayed and to reenact the stories using their imagination.
