Treasure Village - 12 Dancing Princesses
Treasure Village began in 1973 with the goal of providing family entertainment. Each summer they put on a new children's theatre for all ages to enjoy. They are proud to have positive, family-friendly entertainment. The 46th Season of Family Theatre will present "12 Dancing Princesses" The audience will help solve the mystery of where the 12 princesses disappear each night! This will be an interactive program and they will need lots of actors from the audience to help onstage.
100 participated
Treasure Village is known for its audience interaction and fun stories with a positive message at the end of each show. Attendees will learn that there are different portrayals of this popular fairy tale by Brothers Grimm. Attendees will learn about being an actor/actress and all the other people it takes to put on a play. We are hoping that by watching the play that some of the audience may have an interest in acting and try out for a play or community theater group. This program will bring awareness of other theater groups in Rock County and surrounding areas. Attendees will also have a chance to interact and meet the performers. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.
We had a very successful program with 100 attendees! There was a lot of audience participation with Treasure Village Actors. They selected about 20 students from the crowd to participate in the play. The students learned that our library has a copy of 12 Dancing Princesses for checkout. This book is currently checked out to one of those patrons! Audience learned that actors have to put in a lot of time to remember their lines and going to practices. Some of the attendees actually participated in a children's theatre play the following week! Here is a quote from one of the surveys: "Actors did a great job acting. Also loved that they included the kids in the crowd. My daughter greatly enjoyed!" "The program was great and appreciated!" We heard many more thank yous in person.
