Individuals will learn jewelry making techniques, types of supplies, and basic guidelines for creating a bracelet. Jewelry making is art that an individual can wear, an expression of themselves. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.
Individuals created and took home their own unique bracelets. They also spent a substantial amount of time comparing with each other, and asking lots of questions about where the artist got her materials from, what gauge of memory wire works best, etc. Overall, individuals walked away with creative knowledge of what artistic patterns are more appealing, and technical knowledge of how bracelets are constructed, cost-effective ways of gathering materials, and using tools such as power drills to create one's own beads. Many individuals also expressed their desire to create more bracelets at home.
