Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees will learn about the writing process, including aspects such as what inspires the author to write and how the publishing industry works. They will have the opportunity to meet and ask questions of a Minnesota author and it is hoped that patrons will become interested in the author's books and check them out from the library. It is also hoped that others from the community will be inspired to visit the library as a result of Esken's visit and some may even be inspired to begin writing works of their own. Anecdotal responses will be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Attendees realized how much work goes into writing a book. They also learned about some of the writing, editing and publishing processes that take place to get a book finished, and heard about how much education and experience goes into writing. Everyone attending enjoyed the program and would like more of this type of programs to be offered.
