Doug Ohman is a popular speaker, historian and storyteller as well as an expert photographer with deep roots in Minnesota. Well known for his Minnesota Byways series of 6 books, Doug tells the real stories behind the pictures and makes the photos come to life for listeners using humor and insight. This was a Regional program at 10 of the Plum Creek Library System libraries.

Those who attend will gain an appreciation for the beauty of rural Minnesota landscapes, through the eyes of a talented photographer documenting it through his photos and writing. The presenter has 16 different programs that he can present and there will be a great variety from library to library, encouraging folks to attend his presentations at multiple locations. Participant evaluations and anecdotal responses will be collected.
Doug Ohman is knowledgeable in countless subjects and conveyed a broad array of information to the attendees including Civil War history, information on the history and heritage of various Minnesota buildings, and attractions throughout the entire state. "Doug is such a talented photographer and seeing his pictures and hearing his stories of collecting them was fascinating." I never realized how many different cabins there were in Minnesota. Woods and lake, tiny shacks to grand mansions, they are so diverse and interesting."
