Musical Stringman - Paul Imholte
Paul Imholte collects the wonder of acoustical string music and shares that beauty with his audiences. Known as the "Stringman", he sings and plays a dozen traditional instruments. His featured instrument is the hammered dulcimer, an ancient string instrument from the Middle East. Along with the dulcimer, he plays fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, mandola, mountain dulcimer, cello, viola, autoharp, harmonica and spoons.

People will be exposed to new instruments that they may never have seen or heard before. There will be some interest for string instruments sparked. The hammered dulcimer and many of the other instruments have been featured in cultural music. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
All of the participants seemed to enjoy learning about the different instruments, their cultural significance and hearing them played as well. Many participants had never seen these instruments and many had never heard the music and sounds that they made. It was a true learning experience and all participants enjoyed the music and the musician.
