Library Day at the Cottonwood County Fair
Surfin' the 60's and Rockin' the 70's! Bob and the band entertain families, kids, seniors and beach party guys and gals of all ages, with the addition of new songs and unique contests. This all-ages family fun show features the super surfing hits of the sixties, some of the classic rock & roll of the 50's, along with popular favorites from the 70's and the 80's, as well. This is a collaboration between the Cottonwood county libraries: Mountain Lake, Westbrook and Windom libraries.

Bringing a community together with music and the culture of the rock 'n roll era is inspiring and beneficial. It can stimulate and change the feelings that libraries are not just about books: "I am likely to think of the library as a place to learn about Minnesota's arts, history and culture." "The question on the evaluation form needs to be circled 5-More likely!! more than it is!" That should be our expected outcome after every program that is funded with Legacy funds. Libraries are an important institute in every community. There could be rock 'n roll legend waiting in the shadows and this program could inspire and encourage them to follow their desires. Anecdotal responses will be collected.
The response was wonderful from the public and from the Cottonwood County Fair board. This event brought awareness to the public, of the libraries in Cottonwood County and our ability to bring cultural events to our communities with the funds allocated by the people and for the people! "Thanks libraries" "Do this again next year" "We had a great time" "The music was great" "That was fun" "I love Bob & the Beachcombers"
