Project Overview
The Vetted Programs were created by request of the SELCO public library directors. SELCO compiled a list of "Vetted Performers" who are contracted with SELCO to perform/present/etc. at our regional member libraries. This catalog is a valuable resource for SELCO's members and the Library Legacy funding allows programming to come to libraries that otherwise could not afford to have this rich variety of programs into their communities. SELCO offers both the Minnesota Historical Society Programming for Libraries and their History Players in the Classroom as options for our Vetted Programs.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Increase interest in Minnesota history. Encourage further education and attendance at future performing arts events. Reinforce the idea that libraries are places to experience cultural or arts programming.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Surveys were all 4's and 5's! It was fantastic. Adults commented about how much they learned as well.
The students enjoyed being able to dress up like Abraham Lincoln and others of the day to be part of the program. They want to learn more about the experience of a slave trying to escape in the 1800s.
Students like to participate in the program. They learned about discrimination and segregation in the early 1900s. 80 of the children attending the performance would enjoy seeing another library program.
68 Students would see the performance again. The teachers all gave it 5/5 and comment that they loved it. Students enjoyed the medical information along with the humor and stories.
