Community Collaborations: A Musical Story Hour with Midori & SEMYO
SEMYO seeks to provide an educational program about the orchestral arts which introduces the instruments of the orchestra and features an opportunity to hear a performance by a world-renowned violinist, Midori Goto. In addition, SEMYO hopes to inspire future young musicians by providing a performance by SEMYO students. SEMYO seeks to increase access to the arts by providing free performances in a public venue. Audience members are expected to come away with knowledge and appreciation of this art form. To measure outcome goals, SEMYO will administer a brief survey to the audience after the presentation to collect demographic data and to gather feedback about their experiences. The data will be collected and reported after the event.
24 children and 30 adults attended the program at Zumbrota Public Library. An attendance of 20-50 people was projected so the attendance goals were met and exceeded. 91 people total attended the program at Rochester Public Library. This is considered good attendance for a program at that library.
