Project Overview
Local, award-winning stained glass artist Stephanie Podulke created a 4’ x 8’ stained glass window depicting a cutaway view of a Minnesota pond, entitled Minnesota Pool of Dreams. The new artwork complements the native outdoor-themed redesign of Youth Services. Ms. Podulke spoke about stained glass artistry and her process for building the window with three groups of children from the Rochester Family YMCA camp. The children were then invited to color a translucent drawing from the window to be put on display in the library windows. The art piece was unveiled at a special evening event where Ms. Podulke spoke about her process and shared a time lapse video of the window build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFkjGPERAmk The artwork is admired daily by Youth Services visitors.
