Project Overview
Hans has been a crowd pleaser at festivals, fairs, theaters, colleges, conventions, schools (K-6), libraries, children's museums, and on radio and television. Hans Mayer plays infectious, catchy, acoustic based original music with a slice of bluegrass, a tinge of reggae and a little bit of swing. People of all ages are immediately attracted to his playful personality and his true-to-family-life songs. His award-winning albums for families are hits with kids, parents, teachers and grandparents. Did you ever eat bugs? Dig for worms? Jump in puddles? Fight with your siblings? Well, Hans Mayer did and he hasn't forgotten the feeling! His ear-tickling, infectious music captures the tales of real-life childhood and brings it all back to life with an irresistible sense of humor. Hans's mellow voice and accomplished playing (guitar, mandolin, bass, and Native American flute) adds to the musical feast.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Provide an interactive musical experience to children of all ages. Enhance musical enjoyment through age-appropriate song and dance. Increase access to educational and family-friendly music. Encourage children to include more music in their daily lives. Reinforce the idea that libraries are places to experience cultural or arts programming.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Most children said they wanted to learn more about music and how to make instruments. Everyone wants to come back to the library for another program. Surveys indicate that, on a scale of 1 (low) to 5 (high), over 80% of participants ranked this show a 5, and no one ranked lower than a 3.
