Project Overview
Read S'more Literacy Night was held for K-5 students and families in an effort to give families time to enjoy reading and the benefits of reading. The storytellers were the pivotal aspect of the evening. Activities related to reading were built around them. It was a circuit of literacy. The families were invited to come as their schedules allowed and select the areas they participated in. The storytellers had door monitors and starting times posted for those wanting to attend a session. Among the activities between storytelling events were a book exchange, Literacy "Cash Cab," story starters, bookmark creating, an illustrator, and an animator.

We are hoping to encourage family participation and bonding, while engaging in literacy activities. The local businesses and the collaborating organizations will help to make this an evening to remember for many.
Measurable Outcome(s)
Staff and volunteers had many people seek me out to express their gratitude for such a wonderful evening. The school principal heard their comments as well. The school has received several written thank you notes, and emails expressing thanks to all the staff and volunteers that made the evening so enjoyable.
