Project Overview
Author, illustrator, musician, composer, naturalist, wilderness guide; all describe Douglas Wood. Many know him best from his classic children’s books like “Old Turtle” and “Granddad's Prayers of the Earth;” others from CD’s or concerts or keynote presentations around the country. What connects it all is a passion to communicate in words and music the wonder and mystery to be found in the natural world and in the human story. An author workshop with Douglas Wood is a literary connection for the community. Having authored 29 books with over two million copies in print – including books that are international classics and New York Times best-sellers – Doug's primary fame is as a writer of books. Having Doug visit and tell stories from some of his most famous and best loved writings – including samples from “Old Turtle” to “Aunt Mary’s Rose” is a great connection for the library.
