Bringing Books to Life: Native American Legends and Beliefs
Expand the audience’s knowledge on the beliefs of local Native American cultures. Reinforce the idea that libraries are places to experience cultural or arts programming.
The overall quality of program was rated 3.8 out of a possible 5 between the 23 classrooms that filled out the survey. It received 3.7 out of 5 for being a fun learning experience and 3.8 out of 5 for enhancing knowledge of Native American legends. Some of the things liked best about the program were the quantity of artifacts available to touch with explanations on their use, the speaker appearing in costume, and the sheer amount of information the presenter discussed. Respondents felt the program could have been improved by separating the audience into smaller groups and the presenter interacting more directly with the audience.
