Rhonda Laurie: Happy Days are Here Again
Enhance the audience’s knowledge of music from the first half of the 20th century. Educate about the effects of music on the cultural landscape of the past.
From the survey results, the audience largely agreed strongly that the program met their expectations with an average of 3.77 out of 4. The results were similar for the program allowing attendees to see a program that otherwise wouldn’t have been available to them, increased their interest in Minnesota history, and enhanced their knowledge. Comments were also gathered on the survey asking what was liked best and how the program could be improved. One patron remarked that the program has “very good music & a very interesting selection of music.” Another appreciated how Laurie went about “weaving history into songs.” A third comment was that it “brought back many memories of my family life—parents, aunts, uncles, cousins—singing & dancing to these songs.” Suggested improvements to the program were “more songs during the WWII war,” and “wish the show was longer.”
