Project Overview

KRPR will team up with Ampers to create 15 segments of Rochester Music Notes. Each segment celebrates noteworthy songs, artists, and musical performances. This series will consist of highly produced 90-second segments, exploring fun, moving, and delightful, musical moments in the history of Rochester and the surrounding region, offering listeners a glimpse of the incredible stories behind music. In addition, the segments will be produced in such a way that they can easily be edited and aired statewide as part of Minnesota Music Notes to maximize the Legacy funding.

Appropriation Language

$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.

This project will result in an increase in locally and Minnesota-focused content produced by public radio.
