Project Overview

An 8-23 minute weekly program with Minnesota authors discussing their new publication/book. KUMD will partner with the Minnesota Historical Society and the University of Minnesota Press to share the work of Minnesota authors. These books often focus on Minnesota-centric topics, culture, history, settings and experiences. MN reads offers state-wide connections with a broad geographical range of author roots, topics and inspirations.

Appropriation Language

$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.
