Project Overview

Two-day event held annually, typically in March, featuring music, arts and food. KMSU will pay for a MN-based band to perform. KMSU will also conduct a 5-10 minute interview with at least one of the performers or organizers in the days leading up to the event. When possible, KMSU will feature music from some of the bands performing during the event. KMSU will also support the event by creating listener awareness of the event in the weeks leading up to the event on-air and online.

Appropriation Language

$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.

There will be more locally focused content and Minnesota focused content produced and distributed by public radio showcasing Minnesota artists. This project will help arts and culture to thrive in Minnesota. This project will result in increased exposure to professional performing arts, and the work of professional artists.
