Environmental Voices
One hundred and four episodes of this program featuring expert commentary on various environmental topics such as biodiversity, eco-friendly living, various forms of energy, tips on reducing waste, and overconsumption to name a few. Program is produced with a focus on the values that humans must protect the Earth. Native American culture and history is interwoven into this environmental program to give everyone a better understanding of how we should care for the environment for future generations. KOJB interviews folks with Leech Lake Division of Resource Management, The Leech Lake Health Division, and other local experts.
$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.
Increased interest in Native American culture through weekly programs targeting underserved audience in our listening area. A result of listening to this program will increase interest in the culture of Indians in Minnesota. Survey of listeners will allow KOJB to determine the success of the educational aspects of the program.
