Vetted Programs – A Touch of Magic
Emphasize the importance of performing arts in the local community.
Increase access to the performing arts, enhancing audience comfort and confidence through clowns, comedy magic, and slapstick comedy.
Encourage further education and attendance at future performing arts events.
Reinforce the idea that libraries are places to experience cultural or arts programming.
Parents loved the message of the program "they are the greatest treasure of all." The performer involved the children throughout the program. He was very entertaining. One parent responded "It reinforced the concept that kids are valuable and learning can be done anywhere." Several children inquired if we had books on juggling at the library to learn more.
One child didn't know if she wanted to come because she is afraid of clowns but loved the program, "He is not scary at all, and really funny." Another child said "I would like to know more about clowns."
