Vetted Programs – Mehndi Moon
To emphasize the importance of body art in your local community.
To increase access to body art, enhancing audience comfort and confidence with unfamiliar artist styles.
To encourage further education and attendance at future cultural and/or arts events.
To reinforce the idea that libraries are places to experience cultural or arts programming.
Participants loved hearing about the different cultures and how henna was used in each of them. The adults were impressed how well she was able to talk and paint the henna at the same time. She gave equal time to each person in the audience and kept the attention of everyone in line, at her station, and those already hennaed. Many people asked that she return to their library in the future. Audiences really enjoyed the hands on, great explanations, and discussion.
For the survey, out of 5 possible points, fives were given across the board, except for a few 4s for "Please rate the overall quality of the program."
