Fond Du Lac Storytelling-WGZS
WGZS will collaborate with Ampers to create one or two live community events featuring tribal elders sharing stories about the Fond Du Lac history and culture, focusing on the 1854 Treaty and looking at how boundaries of the reservations have changed over time.? The live event, which will take place in FY21, will be recorded and edited for later broadcast.
$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.
This project will result in an increase in locally and Minnesota-focused content produced by public radio.
More Minnesota will have a better understanding of the history of the Fond du Lac community.
More Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities and incomes will have increased access to Minnesota history.
