10,000 Fresh Voices-KFAI
KFAI will partner with Ampers to produce and broadcast at least 40 episodes of its award winning series 10,000 Fresh Voices. The four-to-six-minute segments will showcase Minnesota's rich cultural heritage focusing on Twin Cities' artists, its culture, as well as the state's history. The segments will air during KFAI's morning show and will cover the wide range of stories and voices that make up Minnesota's rich history and diverse population.
$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.
More Minnesotans of all ages, ethnicities, abilities, and income will have access to artistic, cultural, and historical programming. Minnesotans will have easier access to locally focused content and Minnesota focused content produced by public radio and increase the number of local artists, historians, writers, and others who have their work showcased through public radio.
