Project Overview

KBFT will plan and host a series of live Native American Artist events or workshops for local and regional public to learn and enjoy. Native Fest Arts Series, will feature Native American writing, music performances, artistic cooking, and history. Additionally, the station will record interviews with featured artists, and will edit recording for later broadcast.? KBFT will create a five-minute radio segments for this project.

Appropriation Language

$1,775,000 the first year and $1,700,00 the second year are to the Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations for production and acquisition grants in accordance with Minnesota Statutes section 129D.19.Of this amount, $75,000 the first year is for the Veterans' Voices program to educate and engage communities regarding veterans' contributions, knowledge, skills and experiences with an emphasis on Korean War veterans.

This project will give the people of Minnesota an artistic demonstration on how to create art, techniques, and overall knowledge used in Native art. Students will have more exposure to art and culture because artists will visit area schools. Minnesota artists will benefit from additional exposure.
