Project Details

Community Story Quilts with MN Textile Center:
Artists from the MN Textile Center did a Story Quilt project at five of our libraries for children.

Inspired by the style of illustrator/author Eric Carle, participants decorated a fabric block about his/her favorite book or book character using textile art. Blocks were sewn together by MN Textile staff to make a quilt to display at each library branch. A total of 85 kids/families participated in the program, creating 4 quilts to be put on display at each branch. Participants were introduced to the books and art style of Eric Carle as well as textile art and quilting.
