Anoka County Library - Art in a Box
Anoka County Library developed six art boxes containing paper, scissors, glue, paints etc. that can be used to extend storytimes or artists presentations. All nine county member libraries are able to request the boxes for their programing needs.
Art in the Box supplies have been used at a variety of library programs since their purchase. CHildren were able to draw their own murals at our Rum River Library while art students painted the wall mural during our "Live at the Library Celebration.
Young comic book fans made their own comic books using the sketch pads and special drawing pencils. Storytellers have added crafts to some of their story hour sessions enhancing the experience for young children and their parents. Approximately 100 people have benefited from the supplies so far.
Art in a Box went live February 16, 2010 and data collected through June 24, 2010.
