Washington County Library - Sharing the Gift
Native Pride Dance Ensemble, "Sharing the Gift" featuring Larry and Jessup Yazzie.
This show sponsored by the Washington County Library features Larry Yazzie and his six year-old son Jessup. In "Sharing the Gift" the Yazzies present a series of dances including the Fancy, Eagle, Buffalo and Round, and contextualize them in their own experiences and in contemporary American Indian cultures. Show included audience participation and is designed for the pre-kindergarten through 8 level.
Sharing the Gift:
Larry and Jessup Yazzie from Native Pride Dance Ensemble performed their program “Sharing the Gift” at 5 of our libraries. During the program they performed a series of dances including the Fancy, Eagle, Buffalo, and Round while sharing facts about Native American culture and history.
Program was for children of all ages and their families. Participants were introduced to Native American dance, history and culture.

March 12, 2010 Park Grove Branch; Cottage Grove) @ 10:00 am - Attendance: 32 children/26 adults
March 12, 2010 Oakdale Library @ 3:00 pm - Attendance: 25 children/ 17 adults
Measurable Outcomes may be collected by survey, anecdotal responses, pre-test/post-test, observations; End user change in Behavior, Attitude, Skills, Knowledge, Condition and/or Status.
Participants learn about Native American dance, music and culture while observing live Native American Dance performances.
