Project Overview

Anoka County Library sponsored a Fishing Clinic in Coon Rapids on May 1, 2010. The library provided participants with a notebook and pencil to record their fish stories. The project included a "return your story to the library" component where the stories would be made available online. The project was done in cooperation with the Anoka County Parks and Recreation Department.

523 people stopped by the library table at this event and picked up brochures, talked about summer reading and learned about upcoming library events. Every child and teen received a pen and a fishing notebook to write down their fishing adventures. A suggestion sheet was included to get them started writing. Many kids expressed an interest in the writing activity. Unfortunately the library did not receive a single fishing story during the summer.
