Project Overview

Dakota County Library in cooperation with the Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis, MN provided a series on acting and literary arts programs for children and young adults.

  1. Once Upon a Time Kid Storytelling - Children discover or rediscover how to tell a story or create his or her own in an exciting and creative way. Great for ages 4 - 6 and 7 - 9.
  2. Acting Games for Beginners - If you've never tried acting beofroe our "Acting Games for Beginners" is the perfect starting point. Learn what methods and tricks of the trade actors and ensembles use to revc up their creative juices, tune up their spontaneity and stay in the moment. Great for ages 7 to 10, 11 - 13, 14 to 17 and 18+.
  3.  Intro to Shakespeare Delve into Shakespeare - Even if you never have before! Learn more about Shakespeare's plays, the language, movement and music with a special emphasis on Guthrie productions happening in the 2009 -2010 season. Great for highschool or college groups, lifelong learners and teachers.
  4. Your Story: Intro into Memoirs - if you have not yet started to put your memories on paper our introduction to Memoir Writing is for you! Learn the basics of getting your thoughts and ideas from pen to paper.
